UNRIVALED WORKSHOP

One of the first things you'll learn from me is that this is YOUR workshop.  For us, it's about your experience, so you'll have our undivided attention during class and out in the field.   We want to make sure that when the workshop is over you have the skills and confidence to continue creating great work.

DESCRIPTION

Join Timelapse Specialist Ron Risman in Arches, Canyonlands and Beyond for this 5-day advanced control timelapse photography workshop.  You'll learn to capture and create breathtaking motion-control timelapses of the brillian Utah night sky while working on the latest gear from Kessler Crane, Dynamic Perception, Rhino Camera Gear, eMotimo, and Timelapse+.

This is an intimate workshop with daily classroom sessions and in-field instruction and shooting. You will come away with extensive knowledge on how to plan, compose, capture, and process motion-control time lapses; and how to combine motion control camera movement with focus ramping, zoom ramping, and while capturing day-to-night "holy grail" time lapses.

Each afternoon and evening we'll head out to another breathtaking location to capture the beauty of Moab with cloud movement, the setting sun, day turning into night, and to capture the beauty of the Milky Way as it rises over the snow capped La Sal Mountains

This workshop is scheduled around the dates of the new moon to ensure that we have the darkest skies.   We focus on small group sizes in order to maximize learning in class, and to allow for personalized instruction in the field.  This workshops offer limited space in order to keep a student / instructor ratio as low as possible.

Our motion-control workshop is open to photographers and cinematographers of all skill levels.   For those without any time lapse experience it might be worth taking our first class before attending this one, but it's not required.

Bring your own motion control heads and/or dollies and and we'll help you learn how to use them properly.   We'll also have gear on hand from Kessler Crane, Dynamic Perception, eMotimo, Rhino Gear, and more.
